The Calm before the StormA Poem by Patricia WedelA quiet day in May
Mid morning on a Wednesday when baby birds begin to chirp
The red cherries are ripe for Pie and the flowers sing a lullaby... Kittens sigh and purr on pillows of clouds as seen in the Mind's eye... The Storm can wait for afternoon Showers as the Sky may turn grey Mothers untie their Aprons and enjoy a Siesta before the Children return from school with their Lessons embedded in memory... Fathers are working and looking forward to a home cooked meal fit for a King and Queen with a Royal family thankful for a Shelter from a Storm as Shingles on the Roof will protect their Home. Pheasants fly silently over Fields of Corn and Wheat... Blessings Indeed. © 2024 Patricia WedelFeatured Review
