The Lovers

The Lovers

A Story by Chloe..Across the Universe
"

short-short story .. somewhat of a fairytale to many ..most?

"

The lovers walked along the seascape their hands entwined . The night sky was bright with twinkling stars. A full moon shone down upon the ocean. The silence was filled with tranquility save for the cries of the sea birds. Their nostrils were filled with the frangrance of the smell of salt and sea.

Walking along the jagged shore  no words were spoken . They had no need  of words  for their's was a love of unity as if they were one .

As they walked farther the terrain became smoother, less rocky. They could feel the sand beneath their feet as they walked to the ocean's edge and let the waves gently kiss their feet.

How humble they felt.  This vast  seemingly endless  sea as old as time  kissing their feet . They stood in silence and awe of the beauty of this moment  and the feelings they felt for each other . Without speaking  they turned facing each other and embraced . Their bodies seeming to melt into each other's as their lips met in a kiss that tasted of sea and salt, beauty and neverending love.

It's a lovely scene that felt like it was floating between a short story that described a brief magical moment and a poem that expressed a vision of true love. I like it as it is now but would probably fall in love with it if you took it into poem form.

I love the ocean as a backdrop but what seems most important here is the
basic telepathy of the couple. If this were my piece, Chloe, I think I would
present it as verse rather than in a prose poem. The idea would be to make it
impressionistic,

seascape
lovers walked
hands entwined..

you get the idea, I'm sure and then it's not that anything needs to be changed at all
It's lovely just as it is. Beautiful portrait, thanks for sharing.

I've walked in the very footsteps, that the waves washed away, and returned in this lovely work,
I've seen the stars and even watched the sun in full cycle, smelled the salt air,
walking a lonely stretch of sand, arm in arm with the one I love...
thanx for the memories in this fine work!

very sweet. They feel insignificant next to the sea...but finding true love is truly significant in itself!

This is a tremendous piece...such peace and devotion. It can happen to anyone as long as they remain open to it...Great fantasy...those have to be conceptualized before they can come to be....goals....what a great one to have!

Oooooh, very pretty. It warmed even this cold cynic's heart. :)

There's some grammar stuff I noticed, mostly commas being spaced away and double spaces between words. Otherwise, cute little scene. :)
