Inspiration

a short piece, when I reflected upon the process, and how it made me feel, to write

 

Lying on a hillside

Inspiration finds me waiting

Ideas fly by

Blown on the wind

 

Rhythm and rhyme

Caught up in time

In the expanding web

Of my opened mind

 

I can taste the structure

In the poem complete

Words in a row, appealing

Oh, they taste so sweet

This piece makes me think of William Wordsworth daffodils "I wandered lonely as a cloud..." As though you found your own daffodils, Paul - gathered in a light bulb of inspiration "in the expanding web of my open mind". An apt description, me thinks. 🙏

There are golden moments and places - which I call the all around - that set heart, mind and spirit up.. up and away where one's life is filled with more than the unique. From then it' s a wonderfuly precious gift. I do a cliff top walk where, bluntly, I feel as if space has blessed me with a kaleidoscope of colour, a sort of halo.. weird, yes, I know!
