I am known as “el Camino,” winding slivers of the world’s dream; pilgrimage routes to the holy city of Santiago de Compostela in Spain.  Eons ago, the First Travelers came this way seeking unsettled and fertile lands.  They followed the glittering edge of the Milky Way galaxy west and found shelter from great ice sheets that covered most of Europe.  Some descendants of the First Travelers are drawn back.   

The archives of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela record that 145,877 men and women completed a pilgrimage to the shrine of St. James in Santiago de Compostela during the year 2009. One of these explorers rode a mountain bike with “Military Technology” printed on its frame.  I am about to summon him. Now.
