"You're wise to deal with your Shadow
sabotaging grace
It's not a threat, just a bad sow
unawakened face
Ain't no recalcitrant demon
just your woolly head
So get a clue, get a beam on
shift your sight instead"
Love this verse , reminds me of Don Juan, if you see Evil stop looking at it !
Thats where it gets it power. A powerful statement

Which is why I need to reconstruct more convenience re the reading/listening experience. When I used Playlist, I posted links to my own storyworld archive site (the one used in college curriculum), but since I took that site down, the links are no good, & the SoundClick links aren't deep ones, require going to the site first. But anyway, thanks again for your assiduous attention!
a few knowing smiles and snickers were raised from their own oblivion while i read this piece...black humour...impactful turns creating reason to read more which is wholly my intention...
Due to licensing restrictions, I can't seem to listen to the track. In any case, I really love this. I believe it's my favorite, thusfar. And thank you for your kind review.
It was the title that really caught me. It reads very well (I'm of the old school that believes poetry was meant to be read aloud) but really moves in the musical version. It reminds me a bit of the song "Mail Order Mystics" written and performed by Chris Smither if you're familiar with it ?
Also reminds me of a poem I particularly like (author unknown)
"her lips part in tandem with her thighs
and she enters oblivion on her path to absence. "
This is great stuff, Peace, and I am looking forward to spending more time with your work.
I'm confused by some of the lyrics, like "so get a clue, get a beam on" for one, but man, it's original. It's a welcome break from alot of the other stuff we encounter these days. And I REALLY like what you come up with on your gee-tar, especially the chorus...."no flock no......." that progression is nice.
I am trying to hear this as a song and I can place a bass on it, but I am still trying to place the keyboard [as I feel it would have one] and the vocals to it. Interesting.
SONG UPDATE: Site links and thus playlist expiring, so if they don't work please connect to www.soundclick.com/peacewilson for music tracks corresponding to lyric poems here.
