Seasons Change and So Must I   I watched the rustle in cool autumn's leaves Once shed like ragged remnants summer cast--- Bright oranges, yellows, reds, and in-betweens, Small tokens of a soon-forgotten past. A whirlwind stirred high piles just freshly raked With hands invisible to human eyes As, from their places, chosen fragments leaped To dance across fall's ever-changing skies. On breeze's crest, leaves paused, corrected steps To taste for just a moment autumn's kiss Before the fickle wind began its shift And made my task of raking hit-and-miss.
