Words

A Poem by Adam Light

I gathered my words and went to the wall.
I threw one at each brick, but it still didn't fall.

I laid on the floor, and gathered some more.
At myself these were thrown; I'd given up on the door.

The pain put me out, and I had nothing to say,
but then I woke up - and faced a new day.

The destination was sure, and my words had returned,
These words were so good, the wall would be burned!

I gathered my words, and went to the wall.
I placed one on each brick, and I lighted them all.

One thousand duds, and the wall stood stronger.
I laid on the floor, and gathered words longer.

These words were poison, and I fell very ill,
And yet I woke up to face a new day still.

I went to the wall, without a single word.
They would come later, however absurd.

I knew it was time to silently face all the fears,
that had become a brick wall over the years.

204 views and one review...? Come on people, show some love, critique, converse..

This as well, was wonderfully composed; painted sturdy visuals in my mind, and told of what many people face, or rather, try to avoid facing by playing with words. All the while keeping the story, in-line with its pace and expression.

Beautiful ending. Capturing the true essence of evolution.

"Facing the brick wall."

Congratulations,

I'm in awe, thus far,

Much love,

LR

dam dude... that was so deep... it's somewhat revealing as to the person you hold within yourself. I can say I saw it however much you hid your inner torment. In the short time I've come to know you, I"ve come to a great respect to the person you are. Keep writing, man, I'll keep reading...
