UnforgivenA Poem by PenelopeA Poem about the HolocaustMountains move ever so slowly The cold misty wind sends a shiver down the spine A hearty laugh echo in their ears Growling ever so effortlessly A tender sigh weakens the knees of the hopeless Forgotten and bound to the chains around the ankles of the fallen The smell of despair fills the air so thick you could cut it with a knife. Tears fall down the faces who mourn for their stolen hearts as they are collected into jars, one by one thousands by thousands A grip so tight it leaves bruises around their wrist Hypnotized by words of evil spirits who possess their souls Crying out for help begging for mercy Screaming out in pain Save, save me It comes out as only a whisper Please listen to the cry they yell The heavy chest fights to rise Gasping for a single breath Clawing at the large cage they locked themselves in Searching for a way to hold onto to the light shining in front of them The soreness forms in their throats from screaming To the outside world again only a whisper Kicking waving their arms to draw attention Notice me they plead On all fours digging into the turf Barely making a dent Escaping is what they yearn for most Escape the relationship, as they suck on their soul and leave them penniless Escape the pain, as the loss drags them closer to the darkness Their ragged breath heats the room as they lay on the ground Tired losing faith of any chance of survival Give up just give up the voice taunts in their minds Aggressively they fight to get free Yet they haven't moved a single limb The mountains stopped moving The cold misty winds goes still The hearty laugh still echoes in their ears © 2025 Penelope |
