This a poem that I wrote for a friend named Loren. She taught me lessons about life. I hope you enjoy it.

Written in the Stars

You taught me to laugh and look at the fun in life

 

Don’t take yourself so seriously and be weighed down by the strife

 

You were there when all the chips fell down

 

Listening to my heart when no else came around

 

We have a friendship above the world’s gold

 

At times it is tumultuous, loud and bold

 

Other times it can be a heavy heart

 

Always the inner sanctum of friendship wins a new start

 

Like the fall leaves turn to autumn fire

 

So does a friendship burn with kindling desire

 

Friendships are not straight roads but take different journeys

 

About each other the book of pages turn and of each other we keep learning

 

Just as the wind blows across the plains

 

Friendship endures the heartache and the wicked rains

 

You always know whether you are near or far

 

That the love for a true friend is written in the stars.
