Strange

Strange

A Poem by Perdition

It was strange

these voices as they came

I tried to set beyond them

tried to let myself go numb

and almost free

But it was strange

digging into each deeper shell

the ocean with its eyes that swelled

into reasons unprofessed

It was strange

as if to hold an entirety

in bold unbroken solitude

Stranger than I’d known

a charm crept gently over my graves

sun flowering into the amusing afternoons

I walked in forests ill conceived

spoke to god's myopic angels

as if I knew somehow

each day would end

It took me where the winter grew

and blessed my lips in water

held me in the rocks and snow

making love with restful memory
