Foreigners

Foreigners

A Poem by Ink

There is no American Dream
But maybe if we bang our heads
Against this ceiling long enough
We can scrounge up a living in the dent we made
While the crumbling paint and plaster
Powder our face white

Harsh realities of this world - very good! There is no dream in Britain either or anywhere else, all grand illusions. There are things that are worth something, but you have to spend a long time looking.

Hello Ink,

Nice little poem, good contrast between dream and harsh reality. Good balance between the cynical and the positive.

this is metaphorically intense...that crumbling paint and plaster, sort of like our crumbling society...
and we are left in a deteriorating room of broken dreams barely eeking out an existence.
