A Great Assurance

there is a great assurance

in looking over,

narrow eyed and tense,

your thunb easing on th M-16

safty off

your partner just th same

both knowing no matter th fury about to be unleashed

he would not run off on you

nor would you on him

thats not cheap talk

when ten tims as many enemy soldiers as one should reasonably fight

suddenly appear

enons of evolution and every bit of common sense

screams run!

afraid

beyond words

but you stay and fight.
