We used to take out grandchildren to such places when they were small. Hard to find a farm these days that welcoming. All hard graft now. You have reminded me of some lovely outings where the children got to bottle feed the lambs and collects eggs. Some super memories. I enjoyed reading you Peter.

Most of the town kids don't ever see live animals

I was a volunteer pard warden for thr Lake District national Park (no lions, monkeys) a guy asked was it OK to go along a signed path
What about the animal - will they attack you - no your safe they would run away from you they just live in that field
What sort of animal are they >> Sheep
Oh I live in (a city) and have just retired

as one of my characters says you don't see many sheep in the streets (of any town)
N ex gf took me into a city (She was a police sergeant ) she just walked across the road no waiting saw a gap & went for it left me standing at the side of the road

Wish I did have a way with words but then I was teaching about some complex control systems

My paternal grandfather raised goats at home, so when I was small they fed me goat milk as it is good...

My wife's family worked on a large estate farms & things like that
& I got a bike at 11y0 7 had to rebuild it then I went exploring the countryside 20 miles from home
