The Final Resolution

A nanofiction fantasy story.

Who would have thought that the whole kingdom's future would fall on my shoulders? With a strong grip on my blade and blurry vision of the surroundings, I mustered the courage for one final charge. Already exhausted from the combat, the black mage begged for his life as my sword became red of the blood.

Author's Note

I suppose not many of you are familiar with nanofiction, and neither was I until stumbling upon a nanofiction contest. To cut the long story short - the story has to contain exactly 55 words, characters, conflict, conclusion, setting.
I hope I did it right.

It is a nice challenge to fit a tale into so few words. You did a good job of it.

I thought that the jump from charge to begging was too fast. You may have tried coming into the story more towards the end. Just a thought.

Nice! I'd never heard of nanofiction before so this is kinda cool :) However, when you say "my sword became red of the blood," the words 'with his' would be better than 'of the'
