AftermathA Poem by ElisaHe who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself. Proverbs 6:32Heal yourself. Heal yourself. My voice is drowning, but that is my plea. I...I saw you trapped in my whirlwind of lies, disappearing slowly with each new wound, leaving me to embrace my own selfishness. This haunts me every night; piercing my heart are the flames of pure betrayal that glow in your eyes.
Please forgive me, angel. I'd fall through a bottomless pit to feel your soft, supple arms flying down to catch me. Do not let your hands grow cold or your thoughts of me vanish in the jaws of the void. There is only room for one in my shell of flesh and loneliness. With all my love, and all my strength, I beg your forgiveness for the pain I have caused.
