Her ResponseA Poem by ElisaCome back to me...How selfish you are, you venomous slave! You would pierce yourself with enchanted needles while I await my home's destruction!? Would you fly to my side, forsaking your precious poisons, if enemy soldiers breached these walls? No -I mean- yes... Oh, of course you would... What have I done to you? My love, please forgive me. I thrash at your skin while you stand there corrupted and cursed. My heart aches for your deathly touch. I am enslaved to it. Without you here, the air is so thin I try to breathe in, and my lungs only fill with smoke. Come back to me, and inject me with the same cruel needles, so I can be joined to you in everything as I await the coming battle that I fear will never end.
