Writing a Love Poem

Why is it so difficult?

Sitting on the couch,

trying to think of some words

that will impress you. 

 

Why is it so hard

to write an original, 

saccharine poem?

Because it's been done, 

with millions of words all spun

like sugar crystals. 

Avoiding clichés,

there are so few ways to say,

"I'll love you always".

Author's Note

I thought of this poem because of all the love poems I've written recently. All of those were written because of a spark of inspiration, and when I just sat down and said, "I want to write a love poem," the words just weren't there. So, I thought instead of a love poem today, I would give you guys a poem in haiku form about writing poems. Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a great day!

It's seemed familiar with writer's block as per your author's note says but I do agree with your words that sometimes, we don't get any word to get bled with. When we don't want to write, thoughts enter the mind & hustle us to dance ov'r the pages. However, when we actually seemed desperate to pen on, nothing comes or enter in head to some extent, but not exactly. It all depends around what sorta situation you've being surrounded with. Liked the choice of your words in this poetry. Thoughtfully written!
