Each night I try to sleep, 
holding onto my tears. 
playing same old melodies
to make me sleep.

Taking the leap of no return,
falling deeply into our long 
forgotten dreams.

Chasing a familiar voice 
that suddenly disappears. 
Reminiscing of our secret 
promise and memories.

Losing myself and ever failing
to accept what's in front of me. 
Though we have sundered the
feelings of old will remain.

Softly you calm my streaming tears
hoping to keep me asleep. 
gently you sing, quietly i dream
lost in the melody of serenity.

"Farewell, take care... 
don't let sorrow bring you down
let me see your face one more time, 
I'll miss you so much."

Come closer, I cry
begging for one last time. 
Holding what was left and
forever bound to the past.

Looking up the gray sky
as the rain poured loudly. 
Breaking a false smile 
hoping to meet you one last time.

I can certainly relate to this, as I've lost many family members... And, I can tell these are the emotions flowing within Shintaro, if this is about him. There is such complexities within this poem that fills one with sorry and longing, a dangerous chemical reaction. Acceptance is the key to happiness, that is what I have learned. Great job!

I'm sorry to hear about your loss... and like you said acceptance is only the way. But despite the tragedy there is also a light in it all. I too have lost someone important to me and somehow I wrote this in my own and in Shintaro's perspective. To describe those emotion and feelings, is why I wrote this.
