Grave site

It was just a visit to his grave

It’s so easy to think
in to misery
to think of weakness
of his death
and their hate

It’s hard to think
of the happiness brought before
an anti-climatic tragic past

Memory
all too physical
fades away
his laughter gone
along with shouts of baby brother
on snowy nights
and you can’t remember
a voice
and what his scent was
anymore

Green grass
and quiet
easily memorized
bittersweet
like her eyes
and it’s just too perfect

Let’s say whispered words of goodbye
with bitter smiles
and dried eyes
(you didn’t cause it…
right?)
because it’s time to go.
