That Crazy Blue Moon

The cratered blue moon pretended to be the sun.
The stars were not stunned.
So many years the moon had lied.
Turning harvest red as the crops failed.
Making false promises as the lovers gazed.
Slipping into a black slip and doing something
that no one could see.
So the stars, those that did not fall down laughing,
held their positions and the real sun rose
as usual, not giving in to the frivolous moon,
that had a perfectly good yellow blue hue.
Until even the moon, bored with her pretensions,
stepped back smartly for the sensible sun.

There is so much difference between night and day and I'm not talking about the light.
It's a takeover of different forces and I have found there is a playful then not so nice
relationship between the am and pm.

there's just something about that foolish moon that captivates me . . . and something about the way things look in the sunlight after that never seems quite right :)
