blue waters

blue waters

A Poem by Phibby Venable

Blue Waters
There is a worn pail where I carry my moments
of solitude & throw them into the sea.
The water cracks in a crescendo of acceptance
and the foam runs like purity back & forth
in a cleansing across my feet.
Sometimes in first dawn, I am a dark woman,
outlined in a coral burst that hides my face.
With my face hidden, I distribute a prayer.
I pray for the restoration of silhouettes,
waiting to be brought from the shadows.

Very mysterious and intriguing, great imagery to spark the imagination.

This is a sermon stripped of ornamentation and ritual. It is the paradoxical power of simplicity. Short, but nowhere near incomplete.

Reminds me of digging a short hole
and screaming into it.
The hole is made.

Love your work!

you can't plan something like this... you're lucky if you can catch most of it as it moves through you... how fortunate...
