Sea GraveA Poem by Phillip WolkeBury me in the ocean among the fishies and the sea life, I've always liked the peaceful underside to the water, The secret that lies underneath the water on this earth. I'd like to have a conversation and let myself decompose, It's only a matter of time, so let me compose myself. Let me die in peace while knowing the seas' offerings, What can you learn? Life can only be relearned and you'll learn to yearn. An urn can only preserve the ashes, and if we're all phoenixes then to those we shall return. But decomposition is one of the most beautiful compositions, Letting nothing go to waste we waste not the skin and bones. The mind goes on, the soul may leave, So let my body decompose like autumn leaves. Let me feed the wildlife with my final actions. My legacy marked after I go so I rest in peace under the water, All alone with the sea life and coral reefs. © 2025 Phillip Wolke |
