The Winter through the Window

The Winter through the Window

A Poem by Phillip Wolke

Someone else's tv screen flickered,

The darkness gave way to the pictures.

Outside there lies white footprints,

The land of cold,

Of house heated inhabitants.

The days are ever-changing,

The night's at peace and remains so.

The silence of the lamb makes us count our sheep,

We imagine worlds and dream,

Not giving way to peeps,

We wake not for the eyes to see.

The dawn greets us and we rise to keep from being in pieces.

Let your mind go down and you lose inner peace.

Use it and keep your legacy,

Move and speak.
