Forgotten

Forgotten

A Poem by Phillip Wolke

Please don't abandon me,

I've been down for too long.

Please don't forget my name,

I was around for too long.

And if you give in,

Please don't do it on a whim,

We've seen the world wisped away in whirlwinds,

Pearls that once gleamed as spectacles,

Had their clam shells closed on them by skepticals.

Their sins buried in lies,

Half truths told by police and spies,

Policies gauge reactions,

Major catastrophes result in distractions and we're gone.

We disappeared into the void,

History forgot us,

So if you can please don't forget my name,

I was lost to time to someone who had fame.
