Defensive Posture

Defensive Posture

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee
"

Protecting love ones

"

Defensive Posture

When peril stalks the threshold of my hall

and night would claim the quiet of my kin,

I rise, not born for blood or battle’s call,

but sworn that no such shadow shall come in.

No tyrant’s rage, nor villain’s whispered threat

shall break the bond that love itself has cast;

For hearts that stand together, never let

The storm undoes what time and trust have amassed.

I am the watch-fire on the midnight stone,

the steadfast oath no terror can unmake;

My courage forged not for myself alone,

but for the lives that tremble in its wake.

So let the dark advance with all its might

I hold the line, and I will keep the light.

Now, that is a striking white Tiger.

A very rare cat indeed.

I admire the thought process throughout this poem. It’s delicate and intriguing.

You have a compelling inner voice. Spiritual and enlightening to the reader.

A curious and fascinating read.

Words that might have been spoken by Paul Revere, or the Angel Gabriel.

WE need more to hold the line. Poets unite as a front for love and peace. Our voices must shine at this time of disharmony...Yours does that, Phill.

The world needs more lighthouse keepers. Darkness can never prevail against the light as is made evident each dawn when a single ray of sunshine brightens an entire room. Shadows remain, certainly, but it's only a case of needing to throw back the curtains. I really like this one. Keep the light burning. F.
