disassociation

disassociation

A Poem by Nathan Mann

They say hindsight is 20/20.
I guess my memory needs glasses, because I still can't see why we didn't work out.
Maybe it's because I'm still living in the past, but I still think our love had a chance to last.
Everything I see could just as easily be a rerun, a broken piece of a memory. I find myself wondering if maybe I went through with it, maybe I had enough, maybe we both left. I can't come up with any other reason for me to be so detached from everything around me.
I forgot your sister's voice.
