Bricks of steelA Poem by PlatusAn experiment of mine. It's about two guys talking. It's awesome!I walked across the street one night And saw a funny gentleman Who perched above a building. He sat atop the edifice, and Laid stone bricks up in a pile, And poured hot steel between them. “Oh good sir!” I bellowed out “Seal the bricks with melted steel, Instead of using mortar?” “Why yes.” He said bodaciously “Where I come from, I’ll tell you, Steel is cheap and stone is steep.” He laughed aloud, his clever verse Could outshine the universe Or so he thought, I did not. He turned back to his heavy task, But I called out to stop him. I had a vital question: “If steel is cheap and stone is steep, As you wish me to believe, Then why not use bricks of steel?” He called to me: “Bricks of steel? Are you mad? If we did that Then there’d be no bricks of stone.” He had a point, I guess, maybe. So I turned, and started off Away from the strange old man. © 2010 PlatusAuthor's Note
