Watch the World Burn

Wrote this after watching the Green Mile

I stand alone atop this hill.
Waiting for the day to end.
Writhing in pain; suffering,
Knowing it will never end.

Some people want to live forever,
While others want to live a hero.
My life is set on one mission,
To watch the world burn.

I have a cruel curse to live longer,
Than anyone has lived before.
Cursed to see my loved ones,
and Cursed to see them burn.

A story told by many,
A fable lived by one.
This story has no ending,
Will you remember me, when I’m gone?
