Beneath a Golden Sky

Beneath a Golden Sky

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Goals to reach,

Dreams to achieve.

Though low and heavy,

The sky light is seen.

…So I believe.

Prayers go up,

As hope fills my cup.

My hands raised high,
Beneath a golden sky.

As I wait on the Lord,

I love Him more.

Though I can’t see beyond the grey,

His Name I praise.

The sun hides behind a sheet of clouds,

Yet I can see its glow all around.

I know there’s faith to stand by,

Beneath a golden sky.

So wide and vast,

It seems to be holding back.
Yet I search my heart

Where still my dreams are.

…So I believe.

I shall look to the Author and Finisher of my faith

Through all I face;

For a great big God I long to glorify

Beneath a golden sky.

A powerful and beautiful poem.
"Prayers go up,
As hope fills my cup.
My hands raised high,
Beneath a golden sky."
Prayers have great power. If a billion people pray and demanded peace. The world would be a wonderful place. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
