Life Without You

It doesn’t seem real

That you’re no longer here.

For you are still my need,

Having meant so much to me.

 

You have always been a staple in my world,

My very own pearl.

Cherished memories so true

In a life without you.

 

You were there to show your love and care,

Rejoicing in good times, happiness you shared.

Now when something good happens to me

It’s with you I wish to share the story.

 

Little things remind me of the times

You were here by my side.

Your favorite flower in early morning’s dew

Reminds me of life without you.

 

Your amazing smile flashes through my mind

And I thank God you’re alive…

If only in my heart

Where you will always hold a special part.

 

I now find

That our lives are forever intertwined.

For you are in my heart through and through…

So I’ll never truly have a life without you.

A friend asked me to write a poem to give a voice to his feelings. I hope it helps him and anyone who has suffered a loss.

When I first saw it, I thought it was written for someone you love or desire. But when I read your note, it's really touching that you dedicated this for your friend. The last line stand out!
