The Shelter of Love

Safe and sound,

True love abounds.

Sometimes soft and gent,

Others, it’s as cement.

 

Protecting you from circumstances,

Sometimes even from yourself in certain instances.

In a seemingly slow-moving rain,

The shelter of love never fades.

 

Providing a warm place

Where there is always grace,

It covers all doubts

Until you’re living from the inside out.

 

A total rest

Within the soul’s best.

A gentle hammock of peace,

The shelter of love released.

 

When all else fails,

Its covering holds as strong as nails.

High and lifted up,

The Filler of the empty cup.

 

Grace bestows,

And it securely holds

You to God above--

The shelter of love.
