The Thunder WithinA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Thunder Within
Abrupt clap, Undeniable gap. For where there’s silence, Unfolds eerie impatience.
Flashes of light Streak a dark, gloomy sky, Stretching from end to end, The thunder within.
Roaring the loudest When the sky is in grey distress, It groans and groans, Making itself known.
Refusing to keep quiet, Its will is not to quit, But to be heard in a night lit. The thunder within.
The heart groans Of dreams untold. It dares to bestow Flashes of hope.
Unleashes its glory and adorns The dark sky with hopeful light, So too, does the heart when dreams take flight.
Until today’s dreams soar Into tomorrow’s mightiest wind… The thunder within. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
