Still, the Crystal River DreamsA Poem by Melinda McQueenStill, the Crystal River Dreams
It glistens in the moonlight, Moving in its own speed. Letting out a sigh, It ever seeks.
Sparkling on the surface, Yet, in turmoil beneath. “What’s the purpose?” The Crystal River dreams.
In the night It stretches far, Hoping to reach wide, Just like the twinkling stars.
Pebbles thrown into its current, As it babbles beneath their weight indeed. Quite a force sent, Still, the Crystal River dreams.
Though nothing seems to come its way, And when
finally it does-- It is taken away… Still, the Crystal River dreams of love.
Moving ever slowly, Somehow, it believes. Inching forward in its own speed, Still, the Crystal River dreams. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
