Tear-Stained PrayersA Poem by Melinda McQueenTear-Stained Prayers
In the quiet I lay, Wishing I knew what to say. No words to convey the things in my heart and head, So I cry instead.
My feeble attempt to relay The reasons my heart aches Fall short at the bottom of steep stairs, Settling as tear-stained prayers.
So much I want, so much I need, And only in my heart do my longings keep. Heavy is my soul, These tears flow.
Lord, there’s so much I don’t understand, But I trust that You hold my tears in Your hands. Though everyone leaves me, I know You are there, Listening to my tear-stained prayers.
Like rain to a window, Running down in a steady flow, So too, do my tears run through my soul; This, You know.
Help me to be strong By teaching me Your peace song. For I know how much You care… Through my tear-stained prayers. © 2017 Melinda McQueenReviews
