The Sea of Faith

The Sea of Faith

 

Stepping out onto the water,

I’m trusting the One who calms each wave.

Steady and still is my spirit

As I patiently wait.

 

There was a time

When I thought I’d never get out of the boat,

But now I’m ready to partake--

In the sea of faith will my dreams float.

 

Piece by piece,

Things are coming together.

Supported by the water

Which stands up to any weather.

 

Reaching out from my little vessel,
I’m conquering my fears…

Daring to stir the water,

The sea of faith washing away my tears.

 

Venturing out into the glass sea,

For though I may not know how it will all unfold,

I know God carries me

Wherever He wants me to go.

 

The Captain of my life guides me,

And I know He is making a way.

Let me honor Him by jumping into

The sea of faith.
