The Glass Sea

The Glass Sea

 

Light glitters on the sea,

It appears like diamonds

Sparkling over its surface

Like tiny fireflies ever among.

 

To look at it, is akin to crystal

With all its shimmering parts.

It lures to be touched,

A splendid art.

 

How long has it been frozen?

Still and unchanging,

How long has it mirrored the sky perfectly?

Though unmoving… still remaining.

 

No foot has dared to walk--

To dare trespass--

Upon its sketched face.

This sea of glass

 

Its form, locked in time,

Though not lost to itself…

It’s waiting to be on the move again,

Still sustained in its wealth.

 

It shall flow once more,

Moving waters, it shall be free.

Until then, will the reflection of the sky

Appear to swim in the glass sea.

Wonderful imagery here Melinda. I saw an iceberg breaking away, dazzling in sunlight. There has been one this week reported on the news. A floating island soon to melt again and become water.
