On Her Best DayA Poem by Melinda McQueenOn Her Best Day
She let out a sigh, Her hopes had been high. Her dream was dashed With a great splash.
It wasn’t meant to be, And the reason, she couldn’t see. She’d thought her plans were laid; But it never panned, not on her best day.
The dream had been pulled from under her feet, Even before it’d came to be. Having fallen to the wayside, Gone was the hope which did reside.
Years inched along As a snail on its last trek home. Somehow, she got by anyway, And found a smile on her worst day.
Suddenly, a light shone, And a dream began to take hold. A touch of hope, a ray of light, It wasn’t past tense, she was ready to fight.
To let something which was meant to be, Play out the very thing her heart had seen. Happy was she, when she found her faith On her best day.
