Purposely PurpleA Poem by Melinda McQueenPurposely Purple
If I had my way… If I had my say…
My world would be done In a purple medley, a song sung.
I’d live in a purple house, Pouring tea from a teapot with a purple spout.
Purposely purple, Every bit resourceful.
I’d have a purple bed, With purple sheets to lay my head.
Purple roses to fill my room, Lavender scent to drift me to snooze.
Purposely purple, Ever delightful.
To peer at my garden of Lilacs.
A place of beauty
Fit for a queen, I must say… After all, it’s in my name!
No, I wouldn’t go that far; He would think it bizarre.
I don’t want purple everywhere, Just here and there.
However, he says I am his queen, And does give purple roses to me.
Purposely purple, My world is beautiful.
