Upon a Whispered Prayer

Upon a Whispered Prayer

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Upon a Whispered Prayer

In due season

Comes special gifts.

A dream awaited,

A turn, a shift.

When fear’s ugly fingers

Decides to creep,

A ray of light

Bursts through a narrow beam.

A power comes into play

When prayer gives the heart wings.

A safety in which to reside

Upon a whispered prayer… oh, the peace it brings.

A love in which to fall on,
The courage to believe.

Calling a dream forward,

Into reality.

Gliding through on golden wings,

Floating out there somewhere…

Reaching God’s heart

Upon a whispered prayer.
