As Does the SunflowerA Poem by Melinda McQueenAs Does the Sunflower
The
rich soil pampered the tiny seeds, Tiny
seeds waited patiently
Nestled
inside, the seeds warm and cozy, Little
by little, they began to sprout
They
were attracted to the sun With
the rising sun unto a new day,
Feeling
the call from the inside out, Now knowing their gifts, They tarried not to drift.
Soaring to their lengths, opening wide their petals in strength. They
know their power
The
Sunflower graces the field, Knowing
it was created to praise,
Come what may, I pray my faith ever towers. That I rise each morning, as does the Sunflower.
