The Lord's Palm

The Lord's Palm

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The Lord’s Palm

Staying the course,
she moved through her journey.

The turbulent sea raged,
yet she believed.

Tossed to and fro,
still, she didn’t give up.

The sea threw her about,
‘til water she gulped.

Struggling for breath,
she greedily sucked in air.

For a moment she thought
she’d never get there.

The shore seemed far away,

Only a dot in her small view.

Knowing it was there,
she had to go through.

Suddenly, the sea stopped breathing,
and all was still.

Hearing the sound of her heartbeat
as the sea echoed God’s will.

The waters soothed,
reflecting the sun’s light.

Gathering the serenity of the sea,
she found strength to fight.

Little by little, she swam,

‘til at long last, she was upon the shore.

Looking back at the path she’d taken,
she was astounded by what her eyes explored.

For the sea became wild once again,

As though it had never calmed.

It was then she realized
she had been in the Lord’s palm.

So beautiful and so true dear Melinda.
"For the sea became wild once again,
As though it had never calmed.
It was then she realized
she had been in the Lord’s palm"
The above lines are true. We do not walk alone. Thank you dear friend for sharing the amazing poetry.
