In the Nighttime HourA Poem by Melinda McQueenIn
the Nighttime Hour
Dark shadows creep. Fear’s scrawny hands attempt to strangle, Rearing the head of appending danger. Awaiting to reap, It craves to enter the heart, Wishing to wreak havoc in the soul Is its demeaning goal In the nighttime hour, to embark.
But my faith crushes fear, Turning it on its demented head. For my God is bigger than anything you dish, And I know He will see me through Just like He always has. So, fear… I’m not afraid of you!
