A Purple Sunset

A Purple Sunset

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

A Purple Sunset

The sky alive

With colors vibrant

Perform in a dance

Which hypnotize.

The sea comes to shore

In twin purple waves.

Marking the end of the day,

A purple sunset implores.

Lighting the waters of the sea

Which mirrors the late sky.

A softness shown resembles peace

As the sun’s rays sleepily stretches.

Retiring for the night,

Lending a purple sunset delight.

You are welcome dear Melinda.
I am imaging a purple sunset. Purple is my favourite colour, the colour of passion. I can envisage it intertwined with the sun's golden rays on the water's surface. Very beautiful it is too. I thank you Melinda for that vision and your poetry.
