Dreams of Unflappable Faith

Dreams of Unflappable Faith

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Dreams of Unflappable Faith

In rising to strength, one must first tumble

From the height which one formerly thought theirs.

All have tasted the bitterness of time,

Choices made, chances taken, dreams fulfilled.

How oft does life lifts her uncertain head!

Raising mountains and lowering valleys still.

The glorious sun shines upon the big

And the smallest of small in the same ray.

Slack not, O dreamer! lest ye fire burn out.

Quench the thirst which is given to the heart,

A desire planted for a purpose seeks

To blossom into a budding flower.

Setting in motion the small seed of faith,

Erecting a far better hope, certain.

Rise… shine anew for the dreams ye possess,

Granting a light-beam unto the set path.

Planting indeed seeds to be risen up

To uncoil and lively bloom into being.

Speak, I say, speak ye into existence

The dreams which do so brew inside the heart.

For in due time, shall the dreams manifest

Into what the heart has already seen.

Unveiling themselves when altogether

Strengthened in dreams of unflappable faith.
