Christmas in the HeartA Poem by Melinda McQueenChristmas in the Heart
Carolers fill the brisk cold air with song, Joy permeating the atmosphere is time. Shoppers in search of the perfect present, Hoping to bring sparkles to loved ones eyes. Hot chocolate dotted with marshmallows Styrofoam cups serving as hand warmers.
The perfect Christmas tree is selected… Carried home to beautifully adorn. Lights hugging branches in a tight embrace, Shining brightly in a dimly lit room. Peacefulness within becoming new once more, Humming beloved hymns, Christmas in the heart
Gingerbread cookies baking in oven Warms the whole house with the Christmas spirit. Stockings hung purely for decoration, Each belonging to family members. Presents wrapped with love, red ribbons and bows Are soon placed beneath the lovingly tree.
Many aren’t celebrating this sad year, As loved ones are no longer among us. It’s just not the same without their sweet smiles. Yet, their memory become crystal clear During this special season, beloved true, For this is the gift... Christmas in the heart.
