Awaiting SummertimeA Poem by Melinda McQueenAwaiting Summertime
The sun high Beams down upon earth. Birds sing from high lines For all their worth.
Blue skies spread out As far as eye can see. White marshmallow clouds Form friends imaginary.
Trees dance in rhyme To a warm breeze. Squirrels scurry to hide Acorns in tree knots plenty.
The
calendar proclaims But hot sunny days say Summertime is here.
Flowers
grow tall, Planted seeds come to call, Blooming to life true.
Late evening rainbows Arch a tortoise sky Reaching unto the soul... Awaiting Summertime.
