Her Alabaster BoxA Poem by Melinda McQueen![]() Her Alabaster Box
Kneeling down, Her tears washed His feet. Grace had she found As He sat at meat.
What caused her tears? Had she been filled with sorrow For the life she’d lived? Or had she come to express gratitude?
Clutching her possessions not much, Yet she puts aside all she’s got To minister to her Lord in a humble hush, Giving no regard to her alabaster box.
She cared not who were present, And wept before Him. Grateful for His message, She paid no mind to them.
For she was only there for Christ, The One who’d forgiven her sins. Her admiration she did not hide, But poured herself therein.
With all her tears spent, She took of the oil she carried And pouring, her love was sent, As she washed her Savior’s feet.
She’d given all her tears, But she finished not Until all the oil disappeared From her alabaster box.
