Love's Exchange

Love's Exchange

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Love’s Exchanged

His eyes opened
to see the world as it was.

He would walk
the path which begun.

Nestled quietly

in His mother’s nurturing embrace,
as His Spirit nurtured
by God’s love and grace.

The star shone
over the sleeping Baby Christ.

The One who would
escort many to eternal life.

Was he dreaming?

Dreaming of His home with the Father?

Were the angels gathered
around the Living Water?

He was Jesus;
the answer to make all things new.
Alive in His tiny body
dwelled God true.

He would someday
save the world by dying on a cross.

What love, what devotion
to suffer such loss.

For Christ left His throne,
so with Him we could have a Home.
