The Lady on the TrainA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Lady on the Train
The train stopped, and passengers idly drifted away. Each on their journey, all are different, yet the same. Following their path, they are getting by, merely moving through. Time is of the essence, must get there soon.
She blew a puff of air, causing her brunette bangs to momentarily dance. She knew not where to go, but she’d searched for her second chance. The other passengers have long vacated the train, but she was still in her
seat,
She’d boarded the train, All she knew was Finally, she picked up The sunlight shone on her,
She had been on the train But now she knew Looking heavenward, Someone ran into her, “I’m sorry,” “No, it’s okay.”
“Where are you headed?” She replied, “I’m finding my way in Christ. my name is Grace.” Melinda McQueen Rodgers 4/19/26 © 2026 Melinda McQueen |
