My Savior

My Savior

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Stepping down

From Your glorious throne,

You put on flesh,

A love bold.

On the scene,

Did You abundantly arrive.

A mission to save

Was Jesus the Christ.

Walking among

The creation You breathed to life,

You knew pain and sorrow

At its core and its plight.

You wanted a relationship,

You were given nothing but grief.

You wanted acceptance,

You were met with unbelief.

During it all,

You didn’t back away.

During the lashes,

You didn’t sway.

You open wide

My heart to a forever paradise.

For You now live inside,

Making me forever alive.

Thank You, Lord,

For Your more than sufficient sacrifice.

Blessed be Your Name,

My Savior, Jesus Christ.
